I was always intrigued by people and their lives. I always knew that my camera could bear witness to their stories. Our stories need to be told and shared to bridge needs at different levels. This is one of my most compelling photo-essays, which has triggered a many-faceted reaction. The birth of Smiling Gecko is the result of this essay and the project itself is a social sculpture.
